Welcome Back to a New Year of Opportunity

WARM WELCOME TO 2026

Welcome back to the Excel@Uni community, and a warm welcome to 2026. We hope the festive period provided time to rest, reflect, and recharge for the year ahead. As the new academic and professional year begins, we are excited to continue supporting students, families, funders, and institutions committed to unlocking access to education and student success.
January is always a significant month in the South African education calendar. For thousands of learners across the country, the release of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) results marks the culmination of years of hard work and the beginning of important life decisions.

2025 MATRIC RESULTS

The 2025 matric results are expected to be officially released in mid-January, following approval by Umalusi and the Department of Basic Education. Learners will be able to access their results through official online platforms using their examination numbers, as well as directly from their schools.

Results day is often emotional, filled with anticipation, pride, relief, and sometimes uncertainty. Regardless of outcome, it represents a meaningful milestone and a gateway to the next phase of learning or career development.

Recent education reporting has highlighted both progress and ongoing challenges within South Africa’s schooling system. While national pass rates in recent years have remained strong, commentators have noted that headline figures do not always reflect the full reality of learner throughput, subject choices, or post-school readiness.

There has also been increased discussion around declining participation in key subjects such as mathematics and physical sciences, as well as the importance of stronger post-school pathways that explain not only whether learners passed, but what opportunities realistically lie ahead.
These conversations matter because matric results should not be viewed in isolation. They are one part of a broader journey that includes access to tertiary education, funding, academic support, mentorship, and career guidance.

A MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 2025

To every learner awaiting their results: this moment matters, but it does not define your worth or limit your future. Completing matric is an achievement in itself, and whatever your results may be, there are multiple pathways forward.

For some, results will open doors to universities and colleges. For others, they may prompt a reassessment of options, including bridging programmes, vocational training, or alternative study routes. All of these paths can lead to meaningful careers and long-term success when supported correctly.

At Excel@Uni, we believe that access must be matched with support. That is why our work extends beyond funding administration to include student monitoring, academic interventions, mentorship, and career readiness, ensuring that students not only enter higher education, but thrive once they are there.
