WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

At Excel@Uni, our commitment to scholarship and bursary management doesn’t end when the funds are disbursed. It continues as students transform their funding opportunities into outcomes. This page is dedicated to celebrating the journeys of our alumni, whose success stories are a testament to the power of strategic bursary services that prioritise holistic student success and student development.

Our alumni are now engineers, doctors, accountants, educators, and entrepreneurs each one a living example of how effective student support systems can drive real transformation.

These are students who have benefited from our scholarship and bursary administration, continuous performance monitoring, academic support, structured mentoring and career readiness workshops, all delivered through Excel@Uni’s leading integrated student success ecosystem.

We believe education funding is more than a compliance requirement, it’s a long-term skills development investment. If you're a corporate bursary manager or NGO scholarship manager looking to make a measurable impact, let these stories inspire your next move.

Kgomotso Mkhwanazi

Excel@Uni Alumni

After graduating with a BSc Honours in Property studies Kgomotso Mkhwanazi went on to work as a Property Finance Analyst. Excel@Uni has helped me so much, I don’t think I would be where I am without them or even believe in myself the way I do. I had some of the best mentors who actually cared not only about my academic performance, but also about me as a person. They’ve helped me through everything I faced while being in varsity. My mentor also helped me a lot with my CV and cover letter. She gave me good constructive criticism that later helped me in my search for a job.

After graduating Jiyaad, joined Iyeza Health as a junior marketer. "Excel@Uni played a significant role in both my time at university and in preparing me for my career. As an alumnus who was mentored through their programme, I can honestly say that the guidance I received was invaluable. It wasn’t just about academic support, it was about helping me navigate the complexities of university life and the transition into the professional world. One of the key ways Excel@Uni helped me was through the mentorship I received. My mentor provided practical advice on how to handle the pressures of university, balance personal and academic responsibilities, and make the most of my degree. This guidance not only helped me in my studies but also gave me a clearer understanding of the skills and mindset I needed to thrive in the workplace. Additionally, Excel@Uni offered resources and workshops that focused on career development, such as CV building, interview preparation, and networking strategies. These resources helped me feel more confident about entering the job market and gave me a head start in preparing for interviews and finding the right career opportunities. The programme also provided a sense of community. Being part of a network of like-minded students meant that I could exchange experiences, share challenges, and get advice from people who were going through similar things or had already made the transition into the workplace. This sense of connection and support was crucial during my time at university and continues to be valuable as I move forward in my career. Overall, Excel@Uni was a key part of my university experience, providing both the practical tools and emotional support I needed to succeed academically and professionally. It’s something that has definitely set me up for success in the career world."

Keishia Joseph

Excel@Uni Alumni

After graduation, Keishia joined the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist. ’ Using the Excel@Uni platform to organise and track my documentation, yearly work tasks, assignments, and exams for each module was incredibly helpful. It allowed me to break down my responsibilities into manageable tasks, set deadlines, and stay on top of everything. By having all my assignments and exam schedules in one place, I was able to prioritise effectively, ensuring I didn’t miss any deadlines and could allocate enough time for each task. It really contributed to my productivity and helped me manage my workload efficiently. Lastly of course the bursary provided me with essential financial assistance, helping to cover tuition fees, textbooks and accommodation. This support relieved some of the financial burdens, allowing me to focus more on my studies without having the extra worry about how my education would be paid for.
